Formerly Aspect Hotel

The Hoban Hotel is a 4-star hotel in Kilkenny, proudly named for James Hoban (1755–1831) — the Kilkenny-born architect who designed the White House in Washington D.C. Guests who knew us as the Aspect Hotel Kilkenny will find the same convenient Ring Road location, now transformed by a €1 million renovation that has completely reimagined our lobby, bar, restaurant, and conference facilities.

Our 80 spacious guest rooms have been fully refurbished with walk-in rainfall showers, Hypnos beds, Nespresso machines, and 42-inch Smart TVs. Whether you are visiting Kilkenny for a city break, a family occasion, or a corporate trip, we have the right room and the right rate for you.

James Hoban's Story

The Hoban Hotel takes its name from James Hoban, one of Kilkenny’s most celebrated figures. Born locally in 1755, Hoban emigrated to America where he designed the iconic building that became the White House in Washington D.C. — a legacy of ambition and craft that continues to inspire us today.

His story is woven into the identity of our hotel in Kilkenny: a place with local roots and international standards. Nearby landmarks and memorials celebrate his life, and we are proud to carry his name.

Accessible Hotel in Kilkenny

Comfort for Everyone

The Hoban Hotel is proud to be one of the most accessible hotels in Kilkenny. Our fully accessible rooms in Kilkenny are designed to meet the needs of wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility, featuring level-access bathrooms, wide door clearances, and thoughtful in-room amenities.
