Yulefest 2023
Yulefest Kilkenny 2023 will begin on November 25th, with Santa’s arrival to the city and the beginning of the Yulefest Christmas Market. The festival promises to be better than ever this year with something on the programme for everyone. You can expect festive food and drink, live music, crafts, gifts, and visits from some very special guests. Events run right through until early January with something new and exciting each week.
The arrival of Santa marks the start of Yulefest in Kilkenny. Santa is coming to town to turn on the Christmas lights and launch Yulefest Kilkenny 2023 on Saturday 25th November. Santa enjoys a trip up the River Nore by boat finishing up at Kilkenny Castle, travelling through town to turn on the lights at The Parade. Young and old are encouraged to come out and welcome Santa to town with lots of festivities like live music, the Yulefest Christmas Market and plenty of picture opportunities. The festivities will begin on Canal Square at 2pm and Santa will turn on the lights on The Parade at 5pm.
Kilkenny Christmas Market is a highlight of the season where crafters, makers, independent sellers, and local businesses come together to show off their creativity. Visitors are sure to find something extra special and unique here with gift ideas you’d never find on the high street. Kilkenny Christmas Market 2023 will kick-start on Saturday, November 25th and run into early January and takes place on The Parade in the heart of the city. There are markets every weekend starting at 10am until 6pm.
The Christmas Tree Festival takes place from 7th until 12th December and is an event not to be missed. It features spectacular, creative, quirky Christmas trees of all kinds in the stunning setting of St. Canice’s Cathedral. This annual display is for all ages to enjoy. You can enter a tree for free and buy tickets to visit the trees at the door.
There are dozens of other festive events as part of the Yulefest programme this year which include open-air performances, Friday Night DJ Beats and the Yulefest Movie Nights to music, indoor events and much more. soak up some festive atmosphere at The Parade every weekend at The Yulefest Bandstand where a mix of local musicians will be taking to the stage for some pre-dinner tunes.
